Students attended Construction Career Days in Tampa on February 20 to learn about careers available from the member companies of the Florida Concrete and Products Association. These industry careers included accounting and finance, production and delivery, customer service, engineering, drainage and environmental, equipment repair and management, estimating, health and safety, human resources, paving services, project management, quality control, building materials, sales management and traffic control.
FC&PA’s Roger Schmitt shared hands-on displays including a visual display of the advantages of previous concrete pavement, visual display of reducing the heat island effect by using more concrete surfaces. Students also watched videos to learn about the ACPA, PavementDesigner.org, and the Day in the Life of a Driver by the Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) Research & Education Foundation.
